Sismik kendi sismik ölçümünü yapmaz. Uygulamadaki her sayı aşağıdaki kurumların yayımladığı veriden gelir.

2. Sarsıntı şiddeti

  • ShakeMap USGS ShakeMap — istasyon ölçümleriyle yer hareketi modelini birleştiren resmî eş-şiddet (MMI) ürünü. Yalnızca USGS'in ürettiği depremlerde bulunur.
  • Tahmini ShakeMap GMPE modeli — ShakeMap yoksa Sismik, Akkar-Bommer azalım modeliyle büyüklük, odak derinliği ve merkez üssü mesafesinden bir tahmin üretir. Ölçüm değildir.

Uygulama bu ikisini hiçbir ekranda karıştırmaz: rozetin rengi ve metni hangi türde veriye baktığınızı açıkça söyler.

4. Fay hatları

GEM Global Active Faults veritabanı (Global Earthquake Model Foundation).

  • Gerçek gecikme kaynağın yayın hızına bağlıdır ve Sismik'in denetiminde değildir.
  • Bağlantı yokken son indirilen veri gösterilir ve çevrimdışı olduğunuz ekranda açıkça belirtilir.

8. Kaynak hakları

Deprem verileri, fay geometrileri ve harita katmanları ilgili kurumlara aittir ve kendi kullanım koşullarına tabidir. Sismik bu verileri yeniden yayımlar; doğruluklarını garanti etmez. Bir kaynak hizmet vermeyi durdurursa ilgili özellikler kesintiye uğrayabilir.

Sismik does not perform its own seismic measurements. Every number in the app comes from the institutions below. This page explains where each one comes from, how often it refreshes, and what its limits are.

All of them publish after an earthquake has happened. A record may arrive within seconds, or take minutes while an automatic solution is reviewed. Sismik is not an early-warning system.

1. Earthquake catalogues

SourceCoverageNotes
AFADDisaster and Emergency Management Presidency, TürkiyeTurkey and surroundingsPrimary source for Turkey. Magnitudes may be revised after first publication; Sismik picks up the revision and refreshes the record.
EMSC-CSEMEuro-Mediterranean Seismological CentreEurope, the Mediterranean and worldwideAggregates many national networks. May report the same earthquake with a different magnitude.
USGSUnited States Geological SurveyWorldwideAlso the source of ShakeMap products (Section 2).
NOANational Observatory of AthensGreece and the AegeanOften the fastest solution for Aegean earthquakes.
Kandilli (KOERI)Boğaziçi University Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research InstituteTürkiye and surroundingsSecond official source for Türkiye; keeps alerts fast when AFAD is unreachable. Preliminary solutions may be revised.
JMAJapan Meteorological AgencyJapanOfficial earthquake list, including its tsunami note. Retrieved through the open Wolfx API.
CENCChina Earthquake Networks CenterChina and worldwideOfficial list, retrieved through the open Wolfx API.
BMKGIndonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and GeophysicsIndonesiaLatest, M5+ and felt earthquakes, including tsunami potential.
GeoNetNew Zealand's national geohazard networkNew ZealandOfficial earthquake list.

Sources may publish the same physical earthquake as separate records. Sismik matches them by time, location and magnitude into a single entry, preferring the region's official agency, labelled with the publishing agency. Magnitude differences between sources are normal — different networks use different stations and calculation methods.

2. Shaking intensity

  • ShakeMap USGS ShakeMap — the official intensity (MMI) product combining station observations with ground-motion modelling. Available only for events USGS produces it for.
  • Estimated ShakeMap GMPE model — when no ShakeMap exists, Sismik derives an estimate from magnitude, focal depth and epicentral distance using the Akkar-Bommer attenuation model. It is not a measurement.

The app never blurs the two: the badge's colour and wording say plainly which kind of data you are looking at.

3. Tsunami warnings and impact level

  • NOAA NTWC and PTWC (tsunami.gov) — warning, advisory, watch and threat messages from the US National and Pacific Tsunami Warning Centers. Information statements do not trigger notifications.
  • JMA and BMKG — the tsunami warning/potential on the earthquake record.
  • GDACS — the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System of the UN and the European Commission; a green/orange/red impact level based on population and damage models.

There is no public machine-readable tsunami warning feed for the Mediterranean and the Aegean, so no tsunami notifications are sent there; follow official announcements (AFAD, Kandilli).

4. Fault lines

The GEM Global Active Faults database (Global Earthquake Model Foundation). Active fault geometries worldwide, coloured on the map by slip rate. It is a scientific compilation — not an official zoning or site-survey document.

5. Assembly areas

Nearby open space and assembly point suggestions are compiled from OpenStreetMap contributor data and the Google Places API. These are not the official AFAD assembly-area list. In a real disaster, follow the assembly areas designated by your local authority.

6. Artificial intelligence

Sismolog AI is generated with Google Gemini. Only the earthquake's technical parameters are sent to the model; personal data, location and device information are never sent (see the Privacy Policy). The generated text is automatic and does not replace scientific judgement.

7. Refresh and delay

  • The server polls the sources every 15 seconds; EMSC and USGS records also arrive through live feeds. A new record is notified as soon as it is found.
  • While the app is open, the list refreshes roughly every 25 seconds.
  • Actual delay depends on how quickly each agency publishes and is outside Sismik's control.
  • Offline, the last downloaded data is shown and clearly marked as such.

8. Rights

Earthquake data, fault geometries and map layers belong to their respective institutions and are subject to their own terms. Sismik republishes them and makes no warranty as to their accuracy. If a source stops publishing, the related features may be interrupted.
